What happens after treatment? Will it come back?

I read a comment today on a Facebook friend’s post that compelled me to do some research and post an entry on here. The anonymous poster comments, “I had a double mastectomy with no reconstruction 9 1/2 months ago…I am petrified that my cancer will return. I touch myself everyday, but it at this point, I don’t know what I am looking for. My mammogram is what saved my life…Obviously I don’t need those anymore, but are there other tests??? “

Since we walk for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer 3-day for the cure, I touched base with one of my contacts there and posed the same question, anxious to find an answer for this person’s dilema. Unfortunately for HIPAA reasons the 3-day coaches cannot give medical advice, but they referred me to the trusty komen.org website.

I dug in and found the following page that should be of use to others in this person’s same predicament. I hope it helps! We need all the support we can get for our survivors!
