Gayle Bouterse, Team Captain, Crew (Tampa), Walker (Atlanta)
Gayle walked the Breast Cancer 3-Day with Kim in 2002 in Boca Raton, FL. Following Kim’s passing in May 2008 Gayle has been instrumental in putting together Team Kimpossible for the 2008-2012 walks. Gayle has walked in 2008 and 2009. In 2010 Gayle joined sweep crew and has driven and cheered from the pink pirate sweep van in 2010, 2011, and was back for much more in 2012. Gayle joined the sweep crew for the 3rd year in a row in Tampa.

Jarrett McGowan, Youth Corp (Tampa)
Jarrett joined Dylan in 2008 to surprise Team Kimpossible in their inaugural year in Tampa/St. Pete. He spent all weekend cheering not only Team Kimpossible, but every walker that passed, handing out cheers, candy, and encouragement. Jarrett is thrilled to have been selected for the 2012 Youth Corp where he will continue his support of the team and all walkers and crew involved in the event.

Ashleigh Ann Crites, Crew– I never had the chance to meet Kim, but the joy her memories brought to my friends made me quickly realize, that we are rapidly losing our loved ones to this awful disease. I realized that just buying the products bearing the pink ribbon (which I have done for years) was not enough. Breast cancer started to hit close to home, and I couldn’t just sit back and watch it strike without a fight!
Word on the street was, after Kim’s funeral her favorite people had a mini celebration of her life in the ‘hood and it was on that night that Team Kimpossible was born! Her friends may have lost Kim but they gained the drive to fight the good fight in her honor and in honor of the future survivors, and also unfortunately, in memory of the loved ones who they would lose along the way to this monster of a disease. It was August 2008, 4 months after the team was formed and the sign ups and donation gathering started, that I decided why wouldn’t I walk 60 miles? Why wouldn’t I join my friends in this fight? Why wouldn’t I take a stab at raising $2200 in just two short months? So, with no valid excuses/answers to these questions, I signed up, I walked in October 2008 and I am proud to say I only had to donate $200 out of pocket that year! I was so stoked and touched by this event, despite the aches and blisters, I walked again in 2009! In 2010 I sailed a pirate ship on the Sweep crew, and for 2011 I was signed up to sweep again, but was not able to fulfill my duties as sweep.  Have no fear though, I came out in full force, with my “Pink’ed out” black mustang convertible, where I spent all 3 days, alongside my mom and a good friend (who are both now signed up to walk 2012 YAY), cheering, yelling, playing music, shaking a tambourine, shaking maracas, waiving my spirit fingers, and driving up and down the route, rain AND shine, showing my support to the amazing walkers who are making a difference!
I participate because everyone deserves to meet their grandchildren, see their loved ones get married or graduate, everyone deserves to not just be a memory, they deserve to be there, to experience their everyday lives side by side with their loved ones….. I am a supporter and a participant because everyone deserves a lifetime.

Dylan Bouterse, Walker – Each year I become more and more inspired to do more within the breast cancer community. Every year I walk, I talk to more people and learn more reasons why this is so very important. I walk for Lesli, for Lisa, for Fran and Karen and all of the survivors I’ve met and know so well. I walk for those who can’t walk anymore. I support Jim Hillman and his quest to help “the little girl on the top of Bellmont hill” who lost her mom from breast cancer. I walk for Carl’s wife Tina and Ed’s wife Tara. I walk for MY wife Gayle and our nieces. The list is too long. This is too important. This year my wife and I are stepping it up and participating in the Atlanta walk as well. This means I have to raise over $4600 and will be walking 60 miles in back-to-back weekends. For those I mention above, I am not too proud to beg. Please click my name above and donate. Please. Pretty please!
I am also forever enshrined in the 2012 60-Mile Men calendar! I am Mr. October 2012. Click “60-Mile Men Calendar” to get your copy! Proceeds go to the Susan G. Komen 3-Day For The Cure!

Amy Dyer, Walker – I decided to join Team Kimpossible in 2009 after I was exposed to the event through friends that had a deep connection to the cause. The year prior my friend Gayle lost her best friend Kim after a long battle against breast cancer, leaving behind a young daughter with a grandchild on the way. Following Kim’s passing, Gayle and other friends of Kim walked in her honor.
I witnessed the amazing dedication by Kim’s friends, Gayle’s husband Dylan and son Jarrett. After witnessing their commitment to such an important cause, I became very inspired and decided to join the fight. When I took on the responsibility to help fight breast cancer, I didn’t just pledge to fight breast cancer alone, but to fight all cancer. I, too, have family and friends that are affected not only by breast cancer, but by many other forms of disease. I walk in honor of those that have passed and walk in support to those that are still fighting.
